Katherine Talarico

Over a period of 15 years with Service Canada and then the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities, Katherine has worked with job seekers, employers, and community organizations throughout her career. For a number of those years, she was employed as what is called a Labour Market Information Analyst – someone who specializes in poring over statistics and graphs, following news reports on the economy and employment trends, surveying employers and also using less conventional methods of understanding what is happening in the labour market. She then took this information and translated it into user-friendly reports that could be used by employers, community organizations, educational institutions and the public in general.

Katherine enjoys helping people understand the information that can help them to make better career decisions, and we have witnessed this at prior OPTIONS conferences – she has a way of making potentially boring information real and relevant.

Katherine has recently completed her Masters in Education – a wonderful feat on its own but far more impressive in light of the fact that she has two very young children, works in a demanding full-time job, and makes time to sit on the Board of Directors of Community Youth Programs in Oakville.
